The Grand Kickoff: Internship Training Inauguration at Our Startup

Stepping into the professional world can be a daunting experience. Our internship training inauguration aims to ensure a smooth transition for participants, offering them a comprehensive overview and hands-on experience.

Held on January 5, 2018, this event marks the beginning of a journey for interns from Semarang and other cities, a journey where they will be mentored, guided, and shaped into future professionals.

A day filled with introductions, insights, and inspirations, this event was designed to provide interns with clarity and motivation for their roles.

Broadcast Announcement

The opening was marked by a special address by Mr. Yusuf (Head Manager) who took to a live YouTube broadcast to greet all attendees.

Who’s Who of the Event

Participation was robust, with 7 interns from Semarang, and approximately 20 from other cities. The core team, including the likes of Mr. Indra, Mr. Dhanur, Mr. Yusuf, and Mr. Andre, also graced the event.

Agenda of the Day

To ensure the event’s success and maximize its impact, a structured agenda was followed.

  • Welcoming and Introduction (09:30-10:10 AM): The day kicked off with Mr. Yusuf’s greetings, which was followed by introductions from the staff and core members of the company.
  • Personal Development Segment (10:10-11:10 AM): More than just job roles, the focus here was on holistic development. A session on inspiring quotes geared towards personal and character development was hosted.
  • Upcoming Project Briefing (11:10-11:20 AM): An exciting insight into an upcoming project was provided, with Mr. Yusuf, Mr. Andreas, and Mr. Aggi leading the discussion.
  • Diving into Work (11:20 AM-12:00 PM): Interns got their first taste of hands-on work experience as they embarked on their project tasks.
  • Recess and Reconvene (12:00-5:00 PM): A well-deserved break followed the morning session, post which the interns resumed their project activities until 5:00 PM.
  • Wrapping Up (6:00-10:00 PM): The day concluded with the interns drafting a daily work report, which also served as their attendance for the day.

The Hurdles in Recruitment

Navigating through recruitment was no easy feat. Despite our rigorous efforts to reach potential interns, reality presented us with some unexpected twists.

Extensive Outreach, Limited Response

We took an expansive approach to reach potential candidates – from posting on over 50 IT-centric Facebook groups to collaborating with various Semarang universities. While we received applications from 50 hopeful candidates, only 30 could make it on the designated day.

Guiding the Newbies: The Intricacies and Challenges

The process of introducing fresh talent to our ecosystem wasn’t without its hurdles.

The Initial Sluggish Phase

Mr. Aggi, our Internet Marketing Manager2, took the lead in briefing the interns. However, the initial phase proved to be time-consuming, demanding patience and persistence.

Repetitive Queries: A Test of Patience

Despite rigorous briefing sessions, attention lapses among interns led to repetitive queries. These redundant questions posed a challenge, especially for our Internet Marketing and HR teams, who were already racing against the clock.
