Internship Work System Progress: Days 1 – 40

Embarking on a journey to cultivate talent and drive innovation, ALTER TEKNOLOGI took a pivotal step by initiating an internship program in January. With a vision to combine cost-effective strategies and quality output, we brought together a diverse group of apprentices from Semarang and beyond. Dive into our 40-day journey to discover our challenges, innovations, and progress.

Genesis of the Initiative

The Beginning:

ALTER TEKNOLOGI, in its nascent stage, sought interns through multifaceted channels, be it direct offer letters to Deans or online postings.

Why the Shift?:

Previous collaborations with freelancers, albeit costly, did not yield desired results. Thus, the decision was to harness the potential of interns, particularly from the IT/SI domain, as a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Days 1 – 8: Navigating the Initial Hurdles

Performance System Limbo:

The first week bore witness to a lack of a streamlined performance assessment method, complicating task allocations and performance checks.

Unexpected Departures:

A concerning trend emerged as several interns, both remote and in-house, opted to leave without providing reasons. This prompted intervention from Mr. Yusuf and Mr. Andreas, who endeavored to refine regulations and introduce foundational tasks.

Days 9-16: Implementing Systemic Changes

Revamping the Reporting System:

This period was characterized by significant improvements in daily reporting, task allocation, and attendance tracking.

Ensuring Accountability:

Given the inconsistency in reporting absences, especially by remote interns, a structured attendance spreadsheet was implemented to enhance transparency.

Days 17-27: Building Leaders

Training Future Leaders:

Identifying the potential in some of our Semarang interns, we introduced a training program aiming to nurture assistant managers, especially to aid the HR department.

Focus Areas:

These apprentice-leaders were tasked with guiding remote workers, offering administrative insights, and overseeing internet marketing tasks.

Days 28-36: Expanding Horizons

Operational Milestones:

Our marketing operations with various startups hit the 80% mark. The remaining tasks were earmarked for the IMM division, possessing niche expertise in internet business.

Broadening the Search:

Recognizing the need for expertise in business administration, we opened our doors to students from the Economics-Business Management domain.

Days 37-44: New Faces, Fresh Perspectives

The New Brigade:

The period ushered in seven new apprentices, a mix of Informatics Engineering and Business Management enthusiasts.

Aiming Higher:

While our aspirations in SEO marketing persist, and our doors remain open for potential talent, the leadership trio, Mr. Yusuf, Mr. Andre, and Mr. Dhanur, took a moment to offer insights to the new entrants.
